In this study the glycemic index of various food products will be determined. The glycemic index
provides information on how fast carbohydrates are digested in the intestine and absorbed as
glucose in the blood.

Target population

• Healthy men and women aged 18-60 years without food allergies
• Non-smoking
• Body Mass Index (BMI) of 18.5 – 24.9 kg/m2. The BMI indicates the ratio between your
  weight and height
• Are you of Chinese descent? (which means: You have at least 1 Chinese parent and/or at
  least 2 Chinese grandparents)

To determine whether you are eligible to participate in this study, a screening will take place.

The study
The study will take place in the Nutrition Clinical Research Unit of Nutricia Research (Uppsalalaan 12,
3584 CT, Utrecht).

• After the screening, you will come fasted 8 times to the research center for intake of a study
  product.
• During each research visit your blood will be sampled using finger pricks at 8 time points
  spread over 2.5 hours.
• A few days after the last research visit a follow up phone call will be performed

Compensation
You will receive a gross reimbursement of €40,- per study visit (including travel costs).
