Online Decision-Making Study

Would you like to help academic research while earning some money? Then register in our real-time interaction study on decision-making!

Requirements

  • You are older than 18 years
  • You can participate with a sibling or a friend
  • You and your sibling or friend have a good (or very good) understanding of English
  • You own a computer with internet connection and you can join a call on Zoom

What will you do?

  • We ask you to register to this study together with a sibling or a friend. When you register, we ask you to provide your first and last name, as well as your own email address and the email address of your sibling or friend. We will use this information only to schedule an appointment with the two of you.
  • After you register, we will contact you with more information about how to take part in the study and schedule an appointment. The entire study will take place online. At the time of your online appointment, we will ask you and your sibling or friend to join a Zoom call. In this call, we will ask you to provide consent and fill out a form with basic information, including information for your payment.
  • In the study, we ask you, your sibling or friend, and another participant to make economic decisions. Based on your own and others’ decisions, you can earn extra money (bonus). We also ask you to fill out some short questionnaires regarding traits related to emotional and behavioral tendencies, and to provide demographic information. The study takes between 20-30 minutes and each of you will earn 5€. Based on your own and others’ decisions, each of you can earn an additional bonus of up to 5€.

Participation

If you are interested in participating, please register below. We first ask you to fill in your own personal information (Participant 1) and then information about your sibling or friend (Participant 2). If you have any questions about the study, you can contact Dr. Catherine Molho, from the University of Amsterdam, at c.molho@uva.nl.
